"Peek" the Forgotten Book
"Peek" the Forgotten Book is about a book that feels she is no longer needed. She now has been replaced by technology. She sits and waits on a shelf for a very long time, waiting for someone to pick her up again and open her pages. She waits for two children that think that a book in their hand means nothing anymore when they have a laptop. With a swipe of their finger, a book will appear.
As Peek sits, a traveler comes and tells them of his adventures and questions why they are not reading "real" books anymore. The traveler is also the one who has written Peek and has brought them another book, which is also peeking out of his pouch. Peek, the book, is once again important as well as many other books. Only this time, they are used by children, again. Remember, real books don't need electricity to work.

About the Author

CW Sparklet is Charlotte Warmsley’s author name. She chose this because she wanted to be a character, reading to different preschools programs with her puppets and teaching songs of her own. After thirty-three years of teaching prekindergarten, she has found a new career as an author of children’s books. The Dirty Snowman was her first story, showing that being different is okay and you can still have friends. CW Sparklet enjoyed listening to children tell their own stories and encouraged parents to read to their children as often as possible.
CW Sparklet, as well as her husband, David, read to their own children many nights and even had an hour each night where the TV was turned off and everyone had to read. Many of her stories come from either what she hears from children or her own ideas. She finds children to be creative, funny, and full of imagination. CW Sparklet was a professional singer and was the first person of color to enter the Miss Connecticut pageant. She was awarded Miss Congeniality. She wants children to keep reading and create their own stories. She wants to thank her husband for all his support and dedicates all her stories to him. (Kali, do you still have my picture?)
