About the Author

Dennis J. Billy, C.Ss.R., a Redemptorist of the Baltimore Province, holds a ThD in Church History from Harvard Divinity School, an STD in Spirituality from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas, and a DMin in Spiritual Direction from the Graduate Theological Foundation. He was professor of the history of moral theology and Christian spirituality at the Alphonsian Academy of Rome's Pontifical Lateran University for more than 20 year and is currently the John Cardinal Krol Chair of Moral Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Overbrook in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. He has written more than 25 book and has published more than 300 articles in a number of well-known scholarly and popular journals.
