About the Author

Sulet Hofmeyr earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Africa. She added to this a diploma in Graphic Design and a diploma in Fine Arts. She started out twelve years ago by giving informal art lessons to children and now runs her own informal art school where she gives art courses to beginners between the ages of fourteen and seventy. Over the years, she developed an art course for beginners that focuses on building creative, artistic and overall confidence by teaching the basic skills and techniques of art. The course she developed was recently introduced to adults with mental and physical challenges in Cape Town in the form of art therapy sessions, with amazing results.
