About the Author

Michael Knight is an award-winning journalist who began his career in New Zealand in 1960. and since then has worked internationally in all media.
His assignments in various capacities as a reporter, cameraman, photo-journalist and documentary director, editor and script writer have taken him to Australia, the UK, Canada and the United States.

He is a two-time winner of the Hoben Prize for Journalism, a winner in a national short story contest, and has co-authored two books, "Building With Logs in New Zealand," and "Playboys of the South Pacific" - the seafaring life of John Glennie who would later survive 119 days in his upturned trimaran.

He had his own public relations company in New Zealand, and was Editor of the quarterly "Future Times" magazine for the New Zealand Futures Trust, while also working on contract as a reporter/director for the long-running TV One weekly "Country Calendar" program.

Knight spent three years in Australia, initially as assistant public relations manager for Hamersley Iron Pty Ltd in Western Australia, then as a newsreader at TVW7/6IX in Perth.

As a skeptic and as an investigative reporter he traveled to Yelm, Washington, in 1988, "sensing a possible expose of yet another fraudulent spiritual movement," this one involving the channel JZ Knight and the entity Ramtha.

After two years of careful scrutiny and commuting from New Zealand to attend additional events at the Ramtha School of Enlightenment he chose to move to the United States in 1990, "which speaks for itself. You have to see for yourself instead of making up your mind based on other people's opinions."

His response to those who question the validity of the school is - "It is a school - not a religion - and I chose to come here and pay for my education, like any student does at any college or university.
