Ramone's Tale
Travelers moving toward their future, leaving their past, with a dull shining object to lead them into the unknown they ventured. A group of needing life, needing excitement, so they could forget, banded against the world. Then as they traveled life's road, the world decided to strike as it provides an enemy in the wilderness. A cougar comes across their trail wishing to make them his next meal. Stabbing at the cougar repeatedly trying to subdue it, while missing the cat's lunging swipes at them. Maris's thrust with his spear and the others whacks at the cougar's head kept it at bay, but the cat's movements were quick and powerful, almost catching them twice. They could not run or move as the cat clawed at them, but move with their weapons they did, hard thrusts to keep the cat at bay, from death.

About the Author

He was born in Hildesheim, Germany, after WWII and brought to the United States by boat at the age of one year. His father was a master sculptor, and he taught him about carving and woodworking as a teenager. He played many sports in Thomasville High School in North Carolina and was part of a state championship football team in 1964. He has business degrees and architectural capabilities stemming from his service in the army during the late 1960s and his time in Vietnam. In the later years, he was involved with electronics companies as a materials manager, purchasing agent, and plant manager. In the 1980s, he left that side of the business to go into sales, working for Pioneer Technologies / Pioneer Standard Electronics. As a salesperson, he developed the knack of telling stories, and now that he is retired, he wishes to tell them to the public reader.
