Toddlers are often like human sponges, soaking up information daily and eager for more. Information about the basic colors are presented in this board book. The opening spread offers no surprises—a red apple and a red strawberry on pages that are also a shade of red. More fruits follow—an orange orange, blue blueberries, and yellow bananas plus a lemon. Each fruit is featured on its appropriately colored page. There is a purple plum and brown raisins flowed by a spread with green grapes and a green pear. On the closing page the color squares from the book are featured in a band along the top of the spread and then all the fruits are presented. Part of the fun is to match up the color square with the appropriately colored fruit, which is part of the storytime tip for parents and caregivers.
