About the Book
The idea to write this book came to mind from the Australian World War II press correspondent, Howard Murphet’s travels in India in quest of God, trying to “discover in ashram, jungle hermitage or Himalayan cave, a great yogi of super normal powers who knew the secret of life and death.”
What and Where is God? He finally discovered just such a Holy Man. While describing the present crisis of strife and discord in the world, the Holy One said, “Intellectual conceit has grown so wild that men have become foolish enough to ask, ‘What and where is God?’
This book attempts to precisely answer this question and seeks to bring out the underlying relationship between physical reality and the Ultimate Reality.
Era of Godlessness We cannot expect God to reveal Himself if modern society rejects or suppresses God in our daily life. The twentieth century witnessed the steady decline of the age-old beliefs of man in God, religion and morality. Instead, it saw the unprecedented rise in materialism. Science was in, God was out.
Billy Graham's daughter, Anne was interviewed on TV and asked ‘How could God let something like Hurricane Katrina happen?' She replied, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out.'
‘Funny, how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.’
How the Ultimate Reality reveals Itself Revelation is the process by which the Ultimate Reality reveals to the world of human beings knowledge of Itself. The book describes how It does so:
• through ancient Seers who have passed down through the ages what they had seen and heard in a subtler
dimension while engaged in their austere spiritual practices;
• through the wonders of Creation to those who have a mind to go beyond mere appreciation of nature’s beauty; it's
not what you look at that matters, it's what you see;
• through a succession of Saints and Divine Messengers, whose clear demonstration of Divine qualities reveals a
higher Reality,
• through modern science’s discovery of a new physical reality that points to the existence of an Ultimate Realty. It
endorses the ancient Vedic teaching of maya or illusion that Truth or Reality does not lie in the Seen, but in the
Unseen, as described in this book. Science is changing western thinking to converge with the revelations of the
ancient Seers.
Ironically, the same science that once killed the notion of God in man is now strengthening mankind's belief in a
'Supreme Power.'
• through the role of Consciousness in creating physical reality. Man is realizing that Consciousness is the
unchanging basis of this ever changing Universe. Consciousness is therefore no longer associated with the
human mind but with Divinity.
From here on, Nature, Man and God all seem to converge
