About the Author

After thirty-eight years teaching first grade at Robbins Elementary school in Omaha, Ina Claire Frischholtz is living in Columbus, Nebraska. She is single and the last surviving member of her family. Ina graduated from St. Bonaventure school in her hometown of Columbus in 1950. In 1954, she graduated from Kearney State College, which is not part of the University of Nebraska. Teaching was her delight. “Salty” was told to her pupils by the stick puppet Shethen. She wrote it in class over 30 years ago. Ina Claire always joked that she wanted to be the ‘Grandma Moses of literature’. Getting it published at the age of 83, she now feels like the great, great grandma!
