About the Author

Ted spent most of his career as a technology manager for a major oil company, mostly in international producing operations. This gave him the opportunity to live and travel in some of the world’s most fascinating places. He developed a keen interest in the cultures and beliefs of other peoples, and believes many Americans would benefit from some of his insights.

He lived in the jungles of Sumatra, the deserts of Kuwait, and traveled extensively in such far-flung places as China, Egypt, Vietnam, and the various countries in the Middle East (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan).

During the 1980s, Ted and his family lived in the suburbs of London, and he worked in a downtown office building just a few blocks from a horrendous act of terrorism perpetrated by the Irish Republican Army. This experience was the inspiration for the actions and characters in his novel Windstorm, young and old. As in all his stories, the main characters, Carter Chamberlain and Fiona McKenna, are beset with troubles at multiple levels, some external and some that they carry around in their own hearts.
