Bonnie Chester was born and raised in New Jersey, in a time before cell phones. Her childhood consisted of exploring wooded trails behind her house, jumping in streams, and skipping stones in a small lake with a mysterious island in the middle. She is a mother of four grown children who all have families of their own. She is blessed with nine grandchildren and probably more in the near future. Sarah Wants an Unusual Pet was inspired by Bonnie’s pet baby bearded dragon named “Lizzy” at the time it was written. Later when Lizzy was older, Bonnie and her husband took her to the pet store and the kind gentleman there informed them that their dear pet Lizzy was a boy. They have since changed his name to Ziggy. He goes on vacations with them and enjoys traveling in the car. Ziggy loves to look out of his window at home where he dreams of having adventures of his very own.
