Description: This is the third edition of a book on the anatomy of the foot and ankle with excellent illustrations and updated information that includes four new chapters on anatomic arthroscopy, MRI, and ultrasound.
Purpose: The purpose is to offer a reference for orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and residents.
Audience: The audience includes physicians involved in the care of patients with foot and ankle disorders.
Features: The book's 14 chapters first cover embryology, bone structures, ligaments, muscles, tendons, vascular system, and nerves in detail with illustrations and photos. The last five chapters are unique in this anatomy book, providing detailed information on functional, arthroscopic, and radiological anatomy.
Assessment: This is an outstanding reference on foot and ankle anatomy. It is well written and easy to review, with information that's valuable to surgeons and other healthcare professionals who are involved in the care of patients with foot and ankle disorders. In my opinion, it should be included in all medical libraries.
