Overview

SEA STORIES is a collection of short stories written
in poetic form. This gives them a descriptive and
compelling advantage in the mind’s eye while at
the same time allowing the reader, with limited
time available, to escape into the world of
fiction. Original poems of the sea are included
for relief and to provide further illumination to the
landlubber who may not understand those who
sail the oceans of this world on their behalf. These
stories are written with the authority, spirit, humor
and love of the sea that only a sailor or one who is
a sailor at heart would fully appreciate. More than
just tales of the sea, they are the soul of the sea
with the violence of storms, the horror of ghosts,
the blood of wars, and the loyalty to country in the
timeless tradition of sailors of the US Navy.

About the Author

Robert E. Browne is a retired Chief petty officer of
the United States Navy who served his country well
for two decades in time of peace and war. He and
his wife, Adelita live in Winfield Missouri, and have
three children who now have families of their own.
Numerous life and death experiences in the military
serve the Chief well as a writer by making him more
aware of his mortality while sharpening the perception
so evident in his literary works. Bob believes that for a
poem or story to be successful, it must stir the emotions
within. He has won numerous literary awards for his
stories, but his goal before retiring to that great dry
dock in the sky is to publish a book of his many works.
