A brief opening section describes what procrastination is, how it can negatively affect your life, and how to identify procrastination in your own habits. This is followed by 20 tips on how to "Kiss Procrastination Good-Bye." Espeland and Verdick recommend keeping track of what needs to be done with lists, trying to stay ahead of upcoming assignments, and setting small, reachable goals. Geared toward middle school students, this tiny volume is loaded with cartoony drawings, colorful and unusual fonts and tongue-in-cheek one-liners. Just barely avoiding a preachy tone, the text gives extremely useful advice that many of us who are long out of middle school would do well to follow. Most of the illustrations do not include people but those that do are gender and racially balanced.
