Thomas E. Sniegoski is the author of more than two dozen novels for adults, teens, and children. His books for teens include Legacy, Sleeper Code, Sleeper Agenda, and Force Majeure, as well as the series The Brimstone Network. As a comic book writer, Sniegoski’s work includes Stupid, Stupid Rat Tails, a prequel miniseries to international hit, Bone. In the second book in the "The Brimstone Network" series, teenage Bram Stone is beginning his duties as the leader of the Brimstone Network. Everyone believes the Network was destroyed when all the agents, including Bram's father, were killed. But Bram now leads a small, rag-tag team of operatives in their quest to keep the world safe from the supernatural. When an alarm sounds, everyone is on their way to a dark cave, where they discover not all vampires were banished from this world. Instead, one was imprisoned in a stone tomb for thousands of years, and, thanks to some treasure hunters, is now free. Bram and his team must track down this vampire prince and stop him from carrying out the mission he had sworn to uphold—turning the whole world over to the vampires. An exciting tale of fantastic, super-hero-like characters, this is a great story for kids who might find other kinds of fantasy too slow, and could even be used to entice older reluctant readers.
