Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Emily Griffin

How many hot dogs do you grill each summer? According to The Skinny on Hot Dogs enough hot dogs are sold each year to feed each American 60 of them. This title, all about hot dogs, is part of the series "Favorite Food Facts" from Capstone Press. Like others in this series there are a few of sentences on the left-side with an accompanying photograph on the right. Topics covered include the history of this delicious food, how it is made, and fun facts about hot dogs all over the world. For curious hot dog lovers there is a fun photo of a french fry-covered hot dog—popular in Korea. There is also a recipe for an "octopus dog," a table of contents, glossary, further sources, and index. A good selection for beginning readers or reluctant readers looking for material that is still age appropriate. Reviewer: Emily Griffin
