Purpose: This is a superb example of a state-of-the-art, user-friendly textbook that covers disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tree, pancreas, and liver, as well as related topics of nutrition and peritoneal diseases.
Audience: It is intended for gastroenterologists, trainees in gastroenterology, primary care physicians, residents in medicine and surgery, and medical students. Those in the medical field with a more than passing interest in gastroenterology and hepatology should acquire this comprehensive and authoritative book. It is user friendly, beautifully illustrated, and contains a wealth of information. The editors and contributors are all eminent authorities in their respective fields.
