Somewhere To Fight For
In the Western District of Victoria, Australia, is a small country town called Wickliffe. Up until the early 1980's, it was as town with a school, pub, bush hospital, church and more. But now, it is on the verge of dying, with everything closed down. But local twelve year old girl Kate dreams of making Wickliffe the town it once was. With the help of her friends - Jane, Wendy and Stuart - she comes up with a unique way to draw people back to the town. However, the local Mayor - Jessie Parker - is determined to make sure it doesn't happen. He wants his own town of Chatsworth to be the greater, and begins to scheme his way into Kate's confidence, with one purpose only: to bring Kate - and Wickliffe - crashing down.

"Somewhere To Fight For" is the novelisation of the award-winning musical of the same name, composed by author Drew Lane. After a successful staging and tour of the musical by St Peter's Primary School, East Bentleigh, the musical won an Australia Day award in 2013 for "Best Event" in the Ararat area.
