About the Author

Shane Frederick has been writing about sports teams and athletes ever since he worked for his high school newspaper in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, in the late 1980s. He currently covers college hockey and other sports for "The Free Press" newspaper in Mankato, Minnesota, and his stories have captured awards from the Associated Press, the Minnesota Newspaper Association, and the Society of Professional Journalists. He is also the author of several books about hockey and football. A graduate of the University of St. Thomas, Shane lives in Mankato with his wife, Sara; their three children, Ben, Jack, and Lucy; and their dog, Charlie.
