About the Author

Joanna Cathleen Chestnut was born and raised in Cresskill, New Jersey during the 1950's and 1960s. From 1972 until today, she has raised six children,
5 of whom are adopted. Joanna earned a Bachelor's Degree from Jacksonville University in Florida and a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Administration from Greenwich University.
From 1981 to 1991, Joanna worked for an environmental law firm, the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund (now Earthjustice). She then worked for a human service agency providing oversight for a drug and alcohol recovery program for women and their infants. In 1998, Joanna started her own grant writing business, and for over 10 years helped fund nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Having been divorced from her husband of almost 30 years, Joanna is currently retired and has relocated to the Las Vegas Valley.
