The Adventures of Renn: Renn and the Dangerous Dragon
The Adventures of Renn is a book based on the dreams of a little girl who is the main character called Renn. In Her world all of her friends are animals and she visits them from time to time. Renn's friends are similar of today's youth who have trouble dealing with acceptance, love, and being unique. Renn believes that everyone is special and that no one has the right to talk about or put down someone else. After Renn is finished helping her friend with his/her problem she leaves them with a moral or a lesson that they should never forget. Renn loves helping her friends because she used to get picked on by children in her school. She had a hard time learning to love herself and accept that she was special just the way that she was. The main character is created from aspects of my own personal life. My full name is Jennifer Renee Franklin. The little girl in my books was actually me. As a teacher I love having the ability to teach youth the meaning of acceptance and togetherness. Hopefully Renn will help other children to love who they are and to appreciate what they already have.

CHAPTER 1

The Adventures Of Renn

Out of ten kids The fourth one in line Was Renn the conqueror The bravest alive She started to dream a quarter past nine Of all her adventures and wonders in time Let's try to see what's on Renn's mind

Brutus the dragon was big not small In fact, he was the biggest dragon of them all He never missed a chance to show his might If you looked in his home, he had won all his fights With teeth so sharp and claws so keen Many of the animals called him mean green He was meaner than mean Oh what a terrible sight Enough to make you have bad dreams at night

That didn't frighten Renn After all, she was brave Everyone knows that you can't be a hero if you're always afraid "You leave them alone," said Renn "And I mean right now" "You'll never make friends trying to be a grouch"

"Who needs friends?" said Brutus "And who needs you?" "Why don't you go play shuka-ma-shu?" "Ever since I was a child, all the kids would call me clown" "They called me a lizard" "They called me a snake" "Some even told me to go jump in the lake"

Renn looked at the dragon He was awfully sad Sometimes when we are picked on It makes us turn bad "Some people are cruel," Renn told Brutus "But that makes them fools, and you the coolest" "I'll be your friend" "You can count on me" "I won't pick on you, because kids used to pick on me" From that day on Brutus was nice No matter what was said, he wouldn't pick a fight "I love myself," Brutus would say "For those who don't love me for me" "They can go jump in the lake"

Renn's job was done Another mission complete So with all of this finished She continued her sleep.
