The book "The Blessings of Sacrifice and the Joy of Service" focuses on two traits of the true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ who came to the world, served and paid for the sins and redemption of mankind with His life. Jesus "... made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men..." (Philippians 2:7, NIV). He also, in His own words, "...came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:28, NIV). Jesus is our perfect example and if Christians are going to be true witnesses of Jesus, they must experience the blessings of sacrifice and the joy of service.
