Jan L. Coates has written more than 20 stories for children and is the author of the novel A Hair in the Elephant’s Trunk, which was a finalist for the 2011 Governor General Award. She has twice been short-listed in the Atlantic Writers’ Competition. She lives in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.
