Though he promises to “fix” the phone Kai secretly wants the app for his dad’s software company. Em learns from Bethan that the texts from the app are not about life and death, but choice and free will. Em has second thoughts about giving her phone away. She confronts Kai. They argue and the phone ends up smashed on the floor. Em gets a new phone. When she uses it the first time she notices the Angel App icon is missing. RJ gives Em the SIM card from her old phone. She installs it and the Angel App appears. Kai, determined to get the app for his dad’s company, starts to write code for the Angel App version 2.
