The Election
Bird life is a series of children's stories from the perspective of birds with a humanistic viewpoint. Their environment is set in a surrealistic setting. Each bird has a distinctive personality. The bird characters have unique names and are metaphorically, symbolically, people-like. The stories can be starting point for discussion for learning life lessons. Because of their cute appeal, the bird characters may amuse some adults. Beginning the series with "The Election" and moving on to the second story titled "The Battle.” The concept is to embrace complex topics simplistically. Storylines cover the environment, politics, communal harmony, and world betterment.

Meet the characters: The Blue Jays (Haughty, Guile & Vie) whom represent dominant, opinionated, lobbying, issue based personalities. The Cardinals (Docile, Percipient, and Decipher) representing supersensitive, contemplative, assertive, perspective leaders, in society. The Mallards (Analyst, Alliance, Bane, Rally, Sagacity, Virtue, and Egress) are representing congress, the senate, policy, and lawmakers and the Robins (Utopia, Bliss, and Acumen) representing free spirited conservationists types--save the earth, save the waterways, save the universe. The Chickadees (Ingenuous, Candor, Blight, Contentious & Redact) representing power hungry, out of control leaders with aggressive based leadership styles, and agendas. The Woodpeckers (Verity & Civility) are representative of the little person, the worker bees, and mainstream society members. The Elegant Trogons (Critic & Observer) represent the messengers, news commentators, and community forum organizers. The Bluebirds (Hack, Differ & Latent) are representative of the hecklers and naysayers in any structural environment. The Vireos (Plebian, Clarion, Blatant & Equitable) represent female rights and all-round activist types.

The storylines touch upon analyzing current events i.e. cultural differences, governing approaches, conflicts, misuse of power and conflict resolution methods. Sometimes overly dramatic and comedic, presented in such a way that the reader can shape their own conclusion, great for opening discussion with children.
