Sometimes there's a story about a young boy named Agawin. He's raised by a seer and lives near the peak of Kasgarden where the dragon Galen has gone to shed its dying tear. Sometimes he's falling off a mountain peak to his certain death and sometimes he's waking up in another time and place and sometimes he isn't even a boy. The Pennykettle dragons play important roles in this fantasy tale, especially Gadzooks, the dragon who can write. So many characters ride Gaia's roller coaster where we learn of the first ice bear, the core of the earth, realignment, portals, fains and a tapestry foretelling the future in carefully woven stitches. The final book in the "Last Dragon Chronicles" ties up loose ends left over from the other six books. Having not had the pleasure of reading any of the others, my brain was reeling from the many characters that are introduced, disappear and then reappear as another character or another moment lifetimes before and after. Yes, it can be confusing. Yes, I did mix up many of the G names and yes, I did enjoy every minute. I will now have to do like the many characters in the book and leap backwards or forwards into Book 1 to begin the adventure. Sometimes a reader must return to the start to grasp the future's past.
