About the Author

Karen Haught is an international women’s speaker and author, specializing in the practical application of biblical principles. Her first book, The God Empowered Wife: How Strong Women Can Help Their Husbands Become Godly Leaders teaches women how to biblically transform and restore their marriages--even when their husbands aren't participating. The God Empowered Heart: How to Keep Good Desires from Ruining Your Life goes deeper into the underlying faith principles of biblical living as applied to all areas of life.
Karen has taught life application of biblical principles, and biblical life coaching to women throughout the United States as well as Asia, Europe, Africa, Central America, Australia, and Latin America, in both wealthy urban and rural village settings. She currently splits her time primarily between the United States and Australia, where her husband, Jim, is employed as an expatriate.
Her full-time ministry began in late 2005, following 25 years as an executive in public and private companies, and entrepreneur. She has a BA in Psychology, MM in Music, and an MBA in Marketing, but counts those as nothing compared to what she learned in the process of becoming a certified biblical counselor through the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors. She is a member of that organization, as well as the International Association of Biblical Counselors, and the Association of Biblical Counselors. She is also a supporter of various non-profit and mission organizations .

Seriously, girls - it doesn't get any better than this book for Christian wives. I've been part of a small group of neighborhood women going through this book together. Many of us have been committed Christians for a long time and have "heard it all" on marriage for Christian wives. But we've never heard what Haught brings to the table.Best of all, the strategies Haught has discovered through her own life and walk with God, are completely Scriptural and immediately applicable.

Praise God for what Karen has put into writing. She has put into words the struggle that so often exists but doesn't get addressed. I see this struggle so often in marriages - but I've never had a great resource to put into the woman's hand that could guide her in making practical changes to let her husband lead. I picked up this book in desperation after church one Sunday in hopes to find some encouragement in my difficult marriage. I didn't really consider myself the "strong" type, but realized I was strong in some of the more subtle ways, like manipulation and "control" behind the scenes. None of my tactics ever worked....just made it worse. After reading Karen's book... I can honestly say that God used this Biblical teaching from his Word to completely transform my wrong thinking for so many years.

This is Elizabeth Fugate (Ron's wife) I found this book just when I needed it. I first picked it up to study it for a class to do. But I realized how I was taking over the situation and not giving my husband any room to have his own decisions count. Best of all, the strategies Haught has discovered through her own life and walk with God, are completely Scriptural and totally able to be applied immediately in very practical ways using tangible tools that are God-honoring.
