The Great Deceiver: The Ascension of the Devil's Protege

As surely as men wage war against each other, supernatural deities also fight for human souls in the afterlife. What are the deciding factors that determine where a soul goes upon one’s death: is it the measure of a person’s character on Earth, and the deeds they have done, or something different? What if one soul has the potential to sway the supernatural battle between God and Satan?
A wealthy, successful lawyer, who seeks justice for those who have none, may be this exact soul. He is still unclaimed, and has a nearly-unlimited capacity for good or evil. When this lawyer’s family is killed, he is forced to make a difficult, moral decision. The consequences of it could forever change humanity. With Heaven and Hell at war, will he bring about the biblical apocalypse and world war three? Or will he prevent disaster and defeat the devil? The fate of mankind rests upon his shoulders.

This novel explores death and beyond, in a vivid and compelling manner. It is through the characters’ within the novel that the ideas of Hell and Heaven , and God and Satan, are re-imagined. This book has many dark elements and series subjects that pertain to theology and morality, but it also contains a lot of humor. The funny parts aid the novel by making the topics of God, the bible, the afterlife, and the end of the world/apocalypse not feel too controversial or horrifying. This thrilling novel also explores the Antichrist in a never-before-seen amount of detail. It explores the Antichrist as a person (instead of a demon or monster). If such a figure were to exist, how would he go from an ordinary person into the Antichrist?

This novel is best classified as Speculative Fiction or Literary Fiction, which are really umbrella terms. If you are looking to place it into one particular genre you’re going to have a tough time. The reason for this is it is a unique work that contains a blend of fantasy (alternate worlds or dimensions), horror (parts that take place within a re-imagined Hell), supernatural, religious, and apocalyptic (or dystopian) elements. These and are combined with a real-world, modern existence that the character lives in: he is originally from Connecticut.

Because The Great Deceiver crosses genres, the easiest way to classify it is to compare it to existing works. In general, The Great Deceiver is a lot like Dante’s Inferno, The Da Vinci Code, or the movie Constantine. If you like stories or movies along those lines then I can assure you that you will love this novel.

What sort of things can you expect from The Great Deceiver? Well, it has a major plot twist early on, which makes it difficult to really explain the book without ruining it. However, one topic that The Great Deceiver explores is whether or not God exists. It also asks if Hell is real, if there is life after death, what happens when we die, is there such a thing as Heaven, is there such a thing as Hell, and can people come back from evil to be good or vice versa? In its own way, The Great Deceiver attempts to answer all of those questions.
