Overview

Luthos Sturm, King of the Four Quarters, led a regiment of veteran soldiers against a border raid by the renegade Quarter of Kraal. During the battle, Kraal broke the Ban on magic, and Luthos … disappeared. Not a trace to be found.

Soon, the High Council of Tygos unravels. Prince Rael desires to become regent in the King’s absence, but is vehemently opposed by Luthos’ wife Tessa and her brother Duke Baern. This sets off a power struggle that burns through lives like a pestilence.

Amid the chaos, Luthos’ advisor Telmon discovers an ancient horror in the Burn, a land blasted by rogue magic a century earlier. Telmon, overcome by greed, unleashes destruction upon the land.

As factions search for Luthos and his young savior, Kyla, political alliances falter, armies gather, and sorcery drives men mad as Luthos flies headlong into the climactic storm that will change the Quarter-Lands forever.

About the Author

Chuck Bordell was born a poor transistor farmer in the Rust Belt of western Pennsylvania. His childhood was filled with polluted rivers that he fell in love with anyway, the sound of railroad cars crashing together, and dreams of lusty women of dubious reputation. Eventually, he tired of all things iron and decided to trade rust for heavy metals, moving to Missoula, MT in 1987. Despite a decided lack of tree cover (comparatively speaking), he found Missoula to his liking and, after earning a degree in Archaeology in 1991, decided to stay and continue his quest for the world record two-headed trout. In the meantime, he discovered that he had some skill in telling stories through sequential art and has since worked for numerous comic book publishers, including Malibu Comics, Caliber Comics, Brainstorm Comics, Transfuzion, 01 Comics, Alpha Productions and Silverline Comics.
