Overview

The Misadventures of the Littlest Dragon tells of Harold, the spoiled young son of a knight in Merrie Olde England.

One day as Harold is throwing a tantrum he unintentionally frees an imprisoned fairy. As a reward for her freedom, she grants him a wish. He decides to use it to become a dragon. But it doesn’t turn out quite as the naughty child expected.

From one end of the village to the other he goes looking for how to make mischief. No matter what mean tricks Harold attempts in dragon form, they always turn into good deeds. What lesson do we learn from his misadventures? Perhaps that the power of goodness can always turn things around, so wouldn’t it be wiser to be our most helpful selves to begin with rather than trying to be a nasty fright?

About the Author

As an author of children's books Dave Springer's goal is to share little lessons from life as he brings a smile to the reader's lips. His personal adventures have ranged from boyhood in Ohio to maturing in Connecticut, semi-retirement in San Francisco and settling recently in Fargo, North Dakota, to remain close to his three granddaughters. The Misadventures of the Littlest Dragon was written when the author was a sophomore in high school. He kept the story and dreamed of reading it to his children and grandkids, which he has had the joy of doing. Now he is happy to share this tale of the boy who would be a dragon with a wider audience.
