Known during his time as a great synthesizer of history, Hubert (1872- 1927) died before his work on the Celtic race, as he characterized it, was complete. Three colleagues completed it as Celtes et l'expansion celtique jusqua'<`a> l'époque de La Téne. No mention is made of a French edition, but the English translation by M. R.
