The Saga of Bartholomew Bee: The Bee Who Taught Santa's Reindeer How to Fly
Bartholomew Bee was born with an indelible stinger; it wouldn’t tear off when used. Where other bees had to show extreme caution before stinging anybody (for to lose one’s stinger is to die), Bartholomew was free to sting whoever he chose, whenever he wanted, as many times as he liked. Children being children and full of high spirits, that’s exactly what he did. He wasn’t malicious or spiteful. If anything, he was excessively playful. He liked to see things in motion. Confusion reigned when Bartholomew was around. The Queen Bee began to fear that life in the community was being disrupted and that the humans, should they discover that a bee was responsible, would not hesitate to move the hive or pull it down completely. She decided that for the good of the whole, Bartholomew Bee must be banned from the hive. And so begins the incredible journey of Bartholomew Bee. Guided by the mysterious arrow that since the night of the burning star pointed only to the North, he encounters numerous hazards as he travels through foreign and foreboding lands until he arrives at the North Pile, finds Santa Claus and fulfills his destiny.
