The beginning of World War Two finds Krill Swyrker smuggling ball bearings from Sweden to Norway for the German Government. He becomes involved with Anne Walker, a nuclear scientist, as he smuggles her from Sweden to Norway. The plot thickens when he is asked to transport her and a small group of nuclear engineers to England along with a shipment of Heavy Water to England. Always one step ahead of the Gestapo, they struggle to make their way by fishing boat out of Nazi-occupied Norway.
