Things I Never Learned in Sunday School
At the beginning of the book is this quote: If you're going to put all your faith into something, you need to thoroughly examine it to make sure your faith is justified.

Polls have repeatedly shown that only a small number of Christians ever read their bibles. As a result, any knowledge they possess about such familiar topics as the Resurrection ... Satan ... Hell ... the Antichrist ... Armageddon is, more likely than not, based on what they have heard in Sunday morning sermons and/or Sunday School/Catechism classes. Few know the history behind the doctrines they profess to live by and even fewer are familiar with how Christianity actually got started.

This book is an attempt to open up new learning pathways and to help believers more fully understand what they believe and why. The material will be especially valuable to Christians who may be struggling with feelings of guilt, fear, doubts, or misgivings about their faith in that it addresses many of the more troubling doctrines and traditions of Christianity. Even devout Christians may discover new information about their faith.

There is little doubt many parts of the book will be unsettling to some. However, when read with an open and inquiring mind, it could result in a new and exciting spiritual experience.

The author does not claim to be a bible scholar or historian. The information she shares is based on several years of extensive reading and research. There are nearly 200 reference notes, numerous scripture quotes, and a substantial bibliography.

About the Author

After spending over 15 years as a devoted, dedicated (and often fervent) Christian, the author became disillusioned with her faith and began a spiritual journey that eventually led to the writing of this book. Along the way, after extensive study and research, she discovered the importance of knowing what you believe and why. This is her first attempt to produce a literary work, but she has extensive writing experience as the former owner of a successful website copywriting business.
