About the Author

I am a retired teacher-turned-writer on the Long Beach Peninsula, tucked away in southwest corner of Washington state. I’ve written for Guidepost, Woman’s World, Byline and Star. I wrote a bi-weekly humorous personal experience newspaper column for over 10 years, garnering 11 state awards. A collection of those columns, "Through My Looking Glass," was first published by Kaleidoscope Press.

"Just Joshin', A Year in the Life of a Not-so-ordinary 4th Grade Kid" is a collection of 63 humorous classroom anecdotes. Following that, "It's Christmas!", with 47 stories and the scripts from three one-act Christmas plays. I've written a dozen one-act plays, and all have been performed in one of three venues.

A frequent contributor to the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series, I’ve had 16 stories accepted in the past three years. I have won or placed in several local short story contests, and two of my chapter submissions for an Astoria, Oregon, newspaper murder-mystery serial were selected for publication. My first novel, a cozy mystery set on the Long Beach Peninsula, is currently seeking an agent.
