Tiger in the (Toilet) Tank
"The biggest strength of the book is his penetrating insight and knack for identifying cause and effect-not only in engineering endeavors, but also in human behavior governing business decisions, such as explaining why marketing to original equipment manufacturers [OEMs] made the most sense for the pressure-assisted technology. I admire his forthright acknowledgement of his vested interested when he opposed plumbing efficiency legislation back in the '80s and '90s." +Jim Olsztynski [Former editorial director of Plumbing and Mechanical Magazine]

About the Author

Bruce Martin graduated from Villanova University in 1956. After 10 years with Corning Glass and forty-eight months turning around Briggs Manufacturing's toilet operations, he set out to innovate a better way to flush a toilet. Thirty years later, he had accomplished much of his goal—flushometer-tank activated [PA] toilets were widely accepted and growing rapidly. By the end of 2002, all types of PA water closets accounted for approximately 20% of all units sold in the U.S.—approximately 60% of the total value of all residential flushing devices. Bruce and his wife Sue have one son Chris. They live in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
