Reptiles like tortoises, tree snakes, gators, and sea snake have three things in common: scales, a backbone, and they are cold-blooded; but they differ in the environments they live infrom a hot desert to a super cold terrain. The rest of the book gives examples of more amazing facts in a fun and comical way by using cartoon characters and settings. The twist on vocabulary includes black, bold-faced words throughout the book while colorful words show the variety of reptiles in nature including lizards and crocodiles. The endpages include a summary of organized facts told throughout the book. This book illustrates how mundane data can be converted into a creative, fun book for learning, but it would have benefitted from a glossary because of the many multiple syllable words like amphibian that are found in the text. This book is part of series "Animal Groups are Categorical." Reviewer: Julia Beiker
