Dr. Jonathan Kear is a lecturer in History and Philosophy of Art at the University of Kent. He is the author of Sunless (Flicks Books, 1999), a study of the French filmmaker Chris Marker, and has also published widely on various aspects of nineteenth- and twentieth-century painting, literature, popular culture, and photography.
