About the Author

Lena Maikon learned to knit and crochet from her grandmother at the age of five in her hometown of Novosibrisk, Russia. She picked up the hobby again many years later, as a form of creative therapy. This quickly turned into a passion and profession. Lena, who often uses unconventional materials in her designs, dreams of creating a knitted and crocheted world. She crafts socks, shoes, dresses, handbags, flowers, vases, and light fixtures. She has published three creative knitting and crocheting books, and has her own handmade clothing and accessory label, Leninka. Lena is the mother of two sons and resides in Tel Aviv, Israel.
