We are Different Now
Pete worked late on the night of July 4th and watched the city fireworks with a friend. Then he drove three miles up the mountain dirt road to a spot where his buddies had gathered. This area is a shelf road with a cliff on one side and canyon on the other. It is pitch black at night, but the acoustics are fantastic. Pete lit and dropped a firework of some magnitude and instinctively jumped backwards, falling 100 feet to the rocky canyon floor and creek bank below where he died instantly from a skull fracture at age 21. When an EMT friend found him unresponsive, the Mountain Rescue Team and sheriff were summoned and thus began the true story of his maternal grandmother's journey with death on the mountain. Come and walk along to learn what has been revealed since we lost this young man with the angelic face and who was born possessing an old soul.

About the Author

Jackie Taylor Zortman is a former bookstore owner in a beautiful tourist town high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where she lives today with her 42-year veteran law enforcement husband. Both are now retired. Noticing a lack of self-help books for grieving grandparents after the loss of her oldest grandchild, she decided to create one and provide it to others who are searching for the same information.
