This mouse adventure of the "Geronimo Stilton" series takes the editor of The Rodent's Gazette to his Uncle Samuel S. Stingysnout's Penny Pincher Castle for a wedding. Uncle Samuel's son Stevie is to marry Patience Plainpaws. Although Geronimo is reluctant to attend the celebratory event, he ends up accompanying his sister Thea, his cousin Trap, and his nephew Benjamin. The combination of the poor accommodations and skimpy meals at Uncle Samuel's castle leave much to be desired by Geronimo. Furthermore, Trap's practical jokes—like the itching powder and trick chocolates—irritate Geronimo who is at his whiskers' end of patience. The pranks place him in awkward positions, causing the other mouse guests to form critical opinions about him. A few days away from the nuptials, Geronimo, Thea, Trap, and Benjamin find the bride-to-be crying because of her despairing situation with Stevie. Thea takes charge and cheers up dowdy Patience with a fabulous makeover and a new outlook on life. The splashes of colorful illustrations and decorative text add some fun to the simple mouse-filled story.
