About the Author

Roger Pierangelo, Ph.D., is Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education and Literacy at Long Island University. He has years of experience as a regular classroom teacher, school psychologist, and administrator of psychology programs. Dr. Pierangelo has served as director of a private clinic and consultant to numerous private and public schools. He is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist, certified school psychologist, and Diplomate Fellow in Forensic Psychology. He is the author of a number of books on special education, parenting, transition services, and assessment.

George A. Giuliani, Psy.D., is Assistant Professor at Hofstra University's School of Education and Allied Human Services in the Department of Counseling, Research, Special Education, and Rehabilitation. Dr. Giuliani is a Diplomate Fellow in Forensic Psychology.
