About the Author

Barbara Bateman, PhD., J.D. is a nationally recognized expert in special education and in special education law. She has taught special education students in public schools and institutions, conducted research in learning disabilities, assessment, visual impairments, mental retardation, attitudes toward people with disabilities, and effective instruction for children with disabilities. / Dr. Annemieke Golly is a certified special education teacher and has taught children with behavior and conduct disorders for the past 25 years. Dr. Golly received her PhD. in special education at the University of Oregon. Her areas of expertise are preventive interventions, behavior management, classroom and school-wide management.
