About the Author

Attention: I debated if I should say anything, but I have since seen some Kindle Authors speak up and even pull their books from Amazon because of the print sales. What they are doing is allowing third parties to sell our books, which means the publisher and the author get nothing from the sales, which isn't right. Since Amazon has chosen to let third parties sell some of our books, with their fast track buttons, I encourage all readers to buy directly from the publisher, like Createspace, here and Smashwords. This way authors will get their due royalties, and you'll be assured of getting a new copy of the book. Otherwise nothing is assured. You may purchase a book from the Amazon quick button, but you are not assured of getting a new copy. So please, if you buy a print copy, buy direct from the publisher if possible. This is for your benefit as much as mine or any author. It seems that we authors, and almost all people in the arts today have to stand up for ourselves and pay attention to what is going on in the retail world. Amazon is a company no writer can ignore as it is a source of income, however, they do seem to be narrowing the profits for writers and publishers now. And the end result for the reader is that if you buy directly you get new copies. If you don't it may not be new copies. Afraid in the dark released now and am working on the second Stalker book. Also Broken Hearted, a new contemporary western romance is Free for your enjoyment. His to Hold the Second book of the series is coming out on the 30th of August. Hope you enjoy this emotion packed book. I've put some different books up for FREE. Now you have Cinderella Nanny which is going off the shelves quickly, Broken Hearted (Cowboy Lovin' Series) is now free also, along with Runaway Bride, A Warrior's Survival. Also, I've had low prices on my books for a long time and I feel after numerous edits, changing covers that the increases aren't that detrimental. A writer can only give books away so long, and I was giving away the .99 cent books for nothing after the Vat tax was included, not so much on Smashwords as Amazon. But Amazon insists we carry the same prices on the books. Which they really can't keep doing as putting a book up for free has to come from them. Amazon is not a writer friendly site right now. And please, I don't mean to harp on it, but when they do things like let third parties sell our books that are brand new, it's very hard for the writer and the reader to get the best benefits. Come on guys, and girls, I'm seventy, even though I'm taking a bit longer, I am still writing every day and plotting new books for your delight. The Ghost of Victor Frank will be out before too long, this book takes a lot of concentration and time. When you deal with psychotic characters, you have to get in their head and stay there which believe me is not an easy task. Please don't forget me. I'm still writing, just taking a little longer now. I feel like when an author writes so long, which I've been writing a long time, decades actually, that to keep from going sour or uninterested they have to try something new. I studied children's writing and graduated from the Children's Institute of Literature. So I dabble with children's stories. My series on Willy deals with a hard of hearing duck. I wrote that to make parents and children more aware that this can be a problem that if nicked in time will save children a lot of heartache. My mid grade short stories have a moral twist to them, uplifting and I hope beneficial to children and parents. I've also gone into teen and New Adult short stories of romance. So try some and see if you like them. I want to mention that a lot of my books and stories are going Audio now, over at Audible.com. So drop by there, just write my name in the search engine and you'll see all my audio's. I try to hand pick my narrators to fit the stories, and I have to say they do a bang up job on them. So check them out, listen to samples and see what you think. Grandma's Ghost Story is getting to be a favorite classic over there, so check it out, and the Willy series is done by the same narrator who really knows how to do voices. I can't say enough about these great narrators. I hope you enjoy the covers, but if there is some you don't like drop me a line at ritahestand@gmail.com and let me know. I love new covers and I love to experiment and see what you readers do like. Also there are a lot of New Adult and Young Adult short stories that I truly hope you enjoy. If you're looking for a quick read and yet fulfilling romance, check them out. I'm adding a few children's stories too. I have fourteen books in the Brides of the West Collection, all stories stand alone so if you are only interested in certain ones, you won't miss something from another book. I have recently begun another Brides book, so I guess I'm not finished with them yet. I'm enlarging my Dream Catcher series, and working on the Connor Series too. Afraid in the Dark is out and The Car Stalker is next. I'm writing it as we speak and I hope it send real chills down your back when you read it. There's already several books in this series to come. The Brides of the West is not complete yet, I have decided to try for twenty in that series. but Red River Valley Brides Series are complete now. I'm going to try to finish the Dream Catcher series this year, and get busy on the Stalker series, along with some New Adult stories and children's stories for you. So try them you might really like them. I'd like to say that fatasticfiction.com has a nice display of our books, please visit. They have every series in order for you to look at and it's a colorful site. If you want a print book I'd appreciate you buying directly from Createspace. This helps all authors not just me. My site is looking very good and I hope you'll visit me there. http://www.ritaphestand.rocks That's all the news for now. Stay tuned though! Blessing to all!
