With Malice Toward None: The Night Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Was Killed
With Malice Toward None is the self-portrait of a young medical student grappling with the turmoil of the American South during the late 1960s.
Peter Rogers leaves Ohio to study in Memphis at a time when civil rights marches, workers' strikes, and institutional segregation create an atmosphere of conflict and division. He attends a KKK meeting and experiences the full force of ignorance and intolerance. When the body of Dr. King is wheeled past him on April 4, 1968 Rogers abandons passive non-participation and takes to the streets in support of civil rights and racial equality. His life is threatened and he is attacked during a march honoring Dr. King.

Rogers develops an intimate relationship with a young African-American woman and they experience the dangers of being a mixed-race couple in the South in 1968. Their relationship becomes a life-changing experience for both of them.
With Malice toward None is both an intimate personal story and a potent documentary of American life, politics, and values.
