About the Author

Born in Philadelphia in 1933, Jim Sharp has spent a lifetime afloat. As a boy, he “went down to the boat” with his father, and he’s been at it ever since. From coastal New England to European canals to the high seas, Captain Sharp has pursued his passion wherever it led. He is the recipient of the Caffrey Antique and Classic Boats Award for his dedication to maritime preservation. He lives in midcoast Maine where he owns and operates the Sail, Power & Steam Museum in Rockland.
