Maggie Blossom is a Nashville based author with a passion for sharing stories with young minds. She specializes in re-writing classic tales in a way that makes them accessible to a broad range of readers.

Asha Pearse is a freelance designer and illustrator working within publishing. Her work is a collaboration of quirky hand drawn and painted elements and cut out printed textures, brought together in a layered collage. She likes to sneak her old ginger cat Aubrey into her pictures. Asha lives in Oxfordshire, where she drinks a lot of tea and eats too much cake. She also really likes robots and stars.

Lyman "L." Frank Baum (May 15, 1856 – May 6, 1919) was an American author of children's books, best known for writing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. He wrote thirteen novel sequels, nine other fantasy novels, and a host of other works.

Take a quick, round trip with Dorothy to the Land of Oz. Dorothy and her dog, Toto, start in a farmhouse in Kansas and are whisked away to Oz. Dorothy’s quest is to find her way back home. She follows the good witch’s directions to stay on the yellow brick road, which leads to the Emerald City where she may seek the wizard’s help. Dorothy and Toto come across three friends—the scarecrow, the tin woodman, and the cowardly lion—who join them to also seek help from the wizard. The plot moves quickly with brief descriptions of the adventures and challenges. For instance, the getting rid of the Wicked Witch of the West is summarized with Dorothy defeating the witch with a bucket of water. The illustration shows the witch’s hat and Dorothy tossing a bucket of water on it. The attractive collages on every page illustrate the story. The text is set on plain backgrounds; some of the words are in colored capital letters. This book is part of the “5 Minute Fairytales” series, shortening common fairytales and adding brightly colored illustration to encourage children to build an interest in reading.
