Overview

Scarlett is at the end of her endurance. Each day she feels more blackness seeping into her soul as she struggles living the life of a prostitute. This life wasn't something she planned, or even imagined. Several years ago she found that running away from dangers at home just exposed her to the carnal and devastating evil of the streets. Scarlett knows she is strong, but how much more vileness can she take? Discouraged, abused, and beat-down, Scarlett can't see a way out of the darkness that surrounds her. David is a brilliant college student with a promising future. Leaning on his faith to guide him, he is led to the sullen, but strikingly beautiful, Scarlett. Something about the young woman's hopeless and tired eyes pulls at him and he resolves to help her. But the darkness inside Scarlett has a firm grip on her heart and he doesn't know if he can break through. Each day David reaches out to her and offers love and understanding. But Scarlett, bruised from years of abuse, struggles to let go of her past to embrace a new future. David wonders if the love he offers Scarlett is enough to allow her to heal and if his heart, slowly tearing apart, will survive the journey.
