Overview

Throughout the course of her long life, Dora Bornschein has lived through the loss of many of the most important people in her life. During her childhood, she lost both her parents and a beloved sister. In recent years, Dora has dealt with numerous health-altering issues and has survived several near-death experiences. Instead of letting poor health reduce her quality of life, she is determined to find joy in daily life by setting challenging goals for herself; she has fulfilled one of them by publishing six historical mysteries. Dora has spoken to many groups and individuals about her life and work and has inspired others to live life to its fullest.

Writing the Last Chapter is Dora's first nonfiction work. In it, she uses a commonsense approach to help others make the most of life and prepare for a dignified and peaceful death. She also offers advice about how to support family members and friends who are in the process of dying or grieving the loss of a loved one.

Dora lives in Pueblo, Colorado, where she was born and has lived for most of her life. She is married to Herb, her husband of nearly 62 years. They have four children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
