A young girl finds herself actively participating in a mysterious flood of alphabet letters coming from behind doors in her house. Her friend Fred comes from a room with the letter F and meets her along the way. They are caught up in this hilarious story, where the alphabet letters are enhanced with rhyming text and objects that begin with each letter. The story brings forth a billion balloons, a D carrying a daisy, eight “eggcited” eggs, a “jillion” jellybeans, a lollipop-licking lion, and more. The delightfully bright and silly illustrations accompany the alliterated text. A mouse has its own whimsical story in the illustrations, and the girl examines things with a magnifying glass and looks under, behind, and around things.
