Zen and The Art of Personal Health
Many things in your life can cause great stress, some is good stress and some is bad stress. In Zen and The Art of Personal Health you will learn what causes stress and how to live a stress free life through stress management techniques. There is a variety of stress management techniques available as well as making lifestyle adjustments to help your body from reacting to stress in the first place. It may be difficult to understand, especially when you are trying to solve problems, but for every negative in your life there is a positive that balances everything out. You will understand how balance is the key to truly being yourself. You must know the difference between inevitable and difficult. If you accept the inevitable it does not mean you are being negative, however what is negative is not being able to move on with your life. You will learn why you don't need anger in your life as well as the types of anger and possible causes. You will also learn how anger causes other problems and how to manage it. Anger can lead to the dark side. It can take an otherwise normal life and create misery, regret, and guilt. Everyone at one time or another gets a case of the blues, feeling sad and down. Given the circumstances that we all live by, relationships, business, jobs, death and dying, losing loved ones, and financial problems to name a few, it's easy to see how we can get bummed out from time to time. Feeling a little depressed now and then may seem quite normal. In this book you will learn what causes depression and when professional help may be needed. The most common types of depression usually result from a feeling of anxiety. In actuality, it isn't so much about being depressed as it is an anxiety disorder. Generally when an anxiety has passed, the depression usually passes also. This book will also discuss the relationship between depression and anxiety and the different therapies available. There are so many situations that can create fear that it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between fears that are real and those that exist irrationally in our own minds. Some fears may seem irrational to most people, but for those individuals who suffer from certain fears, they are very real. Often times these irrational fears are known as phobias. You will learn the differences and similarities between fears and phobias and the fear of rejection and failure. Most importantly you will learn about overcoming fear. You spend approximately one third of your life sleeping, and since you have to sleep to recharge your batteries so to speak, it is in your best interest to improve the quality of your sleep as much as possible. This book will discuss sleeping habits and sleeping problems to include insomnia, snoring, and sleep apnea. You will learn about the five stages of sleep, circadian rhythm, and sleep test studies. Another personal health issue discussed in this book is about the back and sciatica with an explanation of how the back works. Nearly 80 percent of the population will experience some type of back disorder sometime in their life. Diabetes is on the rise and it has been steadily on the rise for the last fifteen to twenty years. You will learn about diabetes and how to control it. Are you on your feet all day? Even if you're not, I'll bet when you come home at the end of the day, you can't wait to kick off your shoes, and put your feet up. There's an old saying, "take good care of your feet, and your feet will take good care of you." During the active part of your day, when your feet are doing what they are designed to do, support the rest of your body, and carry your weight from point A to point B, you can still treat your feet good by walking properly. This book will teach you how to take care of your feet by learning the correct way to walk and what to do about foot problems.

About the Author

Johnny Sprang is the owner and chief editor of Sprang Publishing Company. The mission of Sprang Publishing is to provide you with excellent quality information designed to help you improve the quality of life. Currently he publishes his own writings and material but that may change in the near future.

Johnny is a family man and retired business professional. His resume includes many years of active service with the United States Air Force during and after the Viet Nam War and with the United States Navy Reserve during college. He has also been a business manager, professional sales representative, account executive, insurance agent, and mortgage broker.

In addition to writing on topics that he is passionate about, Johnny spends most of his time enjoying his family and grandkids, on nice days he goes hiking or walking through the woods, and practices Tai Chi. Johnny studies and practices the martial arts he learned while living in Japan when he was in his mid twenties. He has studied Judo, earned a brown belt in Shotokan Karate, and a black belt in Korean Hapkido. Johnny’s creative interest, and probably his number one passion is songwriting. Country, Southern Rock, and Folk music are his tastes. He currently has a CD of songs he has co-written with a good friend and recorded by a popular band in Nashville, Tennessee, and another CD planned for release next year.

The books that Johnny writes cover topics that nearly affect everyone and are based on his own education, experiences, and experiences of others. The titles of the books in this series are listed at the end of this book.
